Caribbean – Antigua and Barbuda

Hello everyone!

Today I want to share my experience with you in the Caribbean, in the Island «Antigua and Barbuda«.

It was possible for me to travel along with my host family. It was the best Christmas gift I ever had. I couldn’t start better this new year than by going to my dream place, the Caribbean. It was only 4 days, but the best for days away from Barcelona.

I want to start to talk about the first day in the Antigua and Barbuda.

In my first day, we arrived in the Hotel which also impressed me because despite of being a humble place the rooms and the Hotel itself were really pretty and I could apreciate the blue ocean which was not to far from the Hotel. I had my own room which was very spacious and that was a luxury for me.

At night my host family invited me at the hotel’s restaurant near to the ocean. It was such a beautiful night because we had a very nice time and I took the time to thank my host family for the trip and the atmosphere was incredible. The restaurant was decorated with beuatiful lights , starfish, and all type of sea figures. The delicious sea food made me feel for a moment as i was back in Barcelona.

 

In my second day I went with yet ski for 30 minutes. I have never done it before. It was an amazing experience. The jet ski ride made me feel as a free bird, flying very low, and close to the water.

In the afternoon, I did snorkeling with my host family. It was really nice, because I saw a lot of different fishes and starfishes.

In the third day, my host parents took me to the incredible restaurant with great views. In the restaurant, there was a bed close to the small jacuzzi and under us we could see the blue and amazing ocean.

In the last day we only stayed for the morning. We spent the morning at the beach to take advantage of our last day in the spectacular island. We were playing and swimming in the water and thinking about the temperature of NYC when we came back.

 

The temperature in the Caribbean it was 30 degrees and when we came back to  New York City, the temperature was -1 degrees. Imagine my impression on that moment.

As an au pair this trip has been the best of my moment in the United States.

I’m very thankful for this opportuny it reminds me that every effort that I’m making is not in vane. I needed this time to relax and think things over. It has been the best way to start this year, now I feel more energetic and looking forward for more adventures like this.

Hoy quiero compartir mi experiencia con vosotros en el Caribe, en la isla «Antigua y Barbuda».

Fue posible viajar junto con mi familia anfitriona. Fue el mejor regalo navideño que he tenido nunca. No podía comenzar mejor este año nuevo que yendo al lugar que siempre he soñado, el Caribe. Estuve sólo 4 días, pero los mejores días lejos de Barcelona.

Quiero comenzar a hablar del primer día en Antigua y Barbuda.
En mi primer día, llegamos al Hotel que por cierto me impresionó porque a pesar de ser un lugar humilde los cuartos y el propio Hotel eran realmente bonitos y podía apreciar el océano que estaba cerca del Hotel. Tenía mi propio cuarto que era muy espacioso y eso fue un lujo para mí.

Por la noche mi familia anfitriona me invitó en el restaurante del hotel cerca del océano. Fue una noche muy bonita porque nos divertimos mucho y la atmósfera era increíble. El restaurante estaba decorado con luces muy bonitas, estrellas de mar y todo tipo de objetos de mar. La comida del mar era deliciosos y me hicieron sentir durante un momento de vuelta a Barcelona.

En mi segundo día fui con la moto acuatica durante 30 minutos. Nunca lo había hecho antes. Era una experiencia asombrosa. El paseo en moto acuática me hizo sentir como una ave libre, volando muy bajo, y cerca del agua.

Por la tarde, hice buceo con mi familia anfitriona. Era realmente bonito, porque vi a muchos tipos de peces y bastantes estrellas de mar.

En el tercer día, mis padres del anfitrión me llevaron a un restaurante increíble con grandes vistas del mar. En el restaurante, había una cama cerca del pequeño Jacuzzi y bajo nosotros podíamos ver el océano azul y asombroso.

El último día del viaje, pasamos toda la mañana en la playa para aprovechar nuestro último día en la espectacular isla. Jugamos y nadamos en el agua y hablamos sobre la temperatura de Nueva York cuando teníamos que volver.

La temperatura en el Caribe era de 30 grados y cuando volvimos a Nueva York, la temperatura era-1 grados. Imagine mi impresión durante ese momento.
Como Au Pair, este viaje ha sido el mejor de mis momentos en los Estados Unidos.

Estoy muy agradecida de este oportunidad que me recuerda que cada esfuerzo que hago no es en vano. Necesitaba ese tiempo para relajarme y meditar cosas. Ha sido la mejor manera de comenzar este año, ahora me siento más enérgica y preparada para más aventuras como esta.
